Like many people, when I first started blogging, I discovered Wordpress and it’s many features that made it easy to set up and get going within a couple of hours. One thing I loved about Wordpress was the thousands of templates that were available and I soon fell in love with some very good ones from Wordpress template designer Brian Gardner, (this new one is one of his too).
In between using some of Brian’s Wordpress templates and because I’ve set up Wordpress blogs for other people, I have used templates by other designers who whilst making great looking templates, haven’t quite got the hang of building in SEO features into their template designs.
It’s for this reason that I plan to launch a series entitled “How to SEO your Wordpress Templates“. This series won’t be on this main Earthmonkey blog, I’ll be hosting it on the TechnoBabble blog and will be developing free SEO Wordpress templates that you can use on your own blog.
In the meantime, take a look at some examples as created by Coutney Tuttle over at Court’s Internet Marketing School. His knowledge and inspiration helped me to think about creating a series of templates that will help other’s gain higher positions in the SERP’s for their work.
